4 Fun Activities to do this Fall as a Family

Fall is the perfect time of year to do some fun family activities. Between the orchards you can visit, the pumpkins you can carve, and the football games you can attend, there is really no shortage of activities to be a part of.
While all of those activities are great, maybe you want to mix it up this year. You have been to every pumpkin patch around, carved countless pumpkins, and been to who knows how many football games. Your family still wants to celebrate fall, but you need some new ideas!
Well, look no further! We have compiled a list of 4 fall activities that are perfect to do as a family, and that will mix up how you celebrate fall a little bit.
Here are our suggestions…
1. Run a Hot Cocoa Stand
One of the most comforting and delicious things to drink in the fall is a nice steamy cup of hot cocoa. It’s rich, creamy, and just the perfect thing to warm you up as the air starts to get crisp.
Rather than just sitting around and drinking hot cocoa in the house, why not share the wealth with the whole neighborhood? Pick out some of your favorite hot cocoa recipes, make them, and sell them at a hot cocoa stand.
A hot cocoa stand has all the essentials for a great fall activity; enjoying the weather, spending time as a family, and making hot cocoa, of course!
You can obviously use the money however you like, but how cool would it be if you donated it to a good cause?
2. Mix Up the Way You Rake Leaves
I know that the way I used to rake leaves was by raking pile after pile before just disposing of them…
Yawnnn!
How boring is that?
Take what is considered a pretty boring chore and turn it into a fun fall activity to do as a family! Instead of making a bunch of little piles, make one giant pile. Rake all the leaves into the center of the yard and take turns jumping in the massive leaf mountain your family created together.
3. Make Some Projects with Your Leaves
Leaves can be a great tool in artistic projects. Instead of getting rid of all of them, save a few to get creative with in a fun family fall arts and crafts session.
One way to use the leaves is to draw on the leaves with metallic sharpies. The metallic colors look so cool over the top of the fall colors on the leaves! Or, you could glue some little leaves to a rock in a pretty design or pattern.
The possibilities for fall art projects using real leaves are truly endless, so put on your creativity hat and get started!
4. Have an Apple Decorating Station
One very popular treat for the fall is a caramel apple, or a candy apple. So, why not make this delicious fall treat into an activity? Have an apple decorating station!
When you have your own apple decorating station, there is no reason to limit yourself to caramel and hardened candy. Mix it up with chocolate, peanut butter, candies, or marshmallows. This is your family’s time to make it their own, so bust out all the sweets and decorate some delicious apples.
