The Eagle Has Landed @ Billings Public Library

Saturday, July 20, 2019 @ 11am-1pm

Join the Library in celebrating the 50th anniversary of the moon landing (and the end of Summer Reading). For those who have been participating in the Moon Walk Challenge throughout the Summer Reading program and have walked their 238,900 steps (VS miles flown to the moon by the astronauts!) earn extra points and a fun treat at the party.

At the celebration, you’ll see the planets being laid out in scale distances with an activity at each planet. You’ll use a passport to visit each planet, earning a stamp for completion of each activity. Full passports earn points in your Summer Reading accounts. Expect space-themed snacks and drinks, and a chance to snap your outer space adventure in front of the green screen. You’ll also take a trip into those 1969 feelings of awe and wonder as you watch footage from that original moon landing.
