2014 Hospice Tree of Lights: Dedicate a Light

November 16, 2014 is a day to celebrate, honor, and remember loved ones, it’s the 24th Annual Hospice Tree of Lights ceremony. On this fall afternoon there will be a reading of the names for whom the lights on the Herbert and Bernice Hadley Blue Spruce Tree will shine for throughout this holiday season. In order to have your loved one’s name included on that list and to have a light shine in their honor, submissions must be received by Friday, October 31, 2014.

Though it is the Hospice Tree of Lights, it’s not exclusive to those who have utilized hospice. With that in mind, if you would like to have your loved one’s name read during the ceremony and included on the scrolls that will display the names of those being honored in RiverStone Health’s Lil Anderson Center, simply call 406-651-6555 or email foundation@riverstonehealth.org. There is not a set fee for adding a name to the list, simply make a tax-deductible donation in an amount that you’re comfortable with that will support RiverStone Health Hospice Services.

About Hospice Tree of Lights

Held on Sunday, November 16 at 4pm at the RiverStone Health Lil Anderson Center there will be light refreshments of cookies, coffee, and tea before the ceremony gets underway. At 4pm there will be the reading of the honoree’s names, and at 5pm, as darkness starts to settle in will be the lighting of the tree.

Each year an individual who has used RiverStone Health Hospice’s services is chosen to be highlighted for the event. This year’s honoree is Patricia ‘Pat’ Peters who not only utilized RiverStone Health Hospice Services, but she was instrumental in bringing Big Sky Hospice (now RiverStone Health Hospice Services) to Billings. She will be remembered for her selflessness and willingness to put others before herself and for her great service to the community and RiverStone Health in a variety of capacities. Her legacy will be forever cherished, celebrated, and remembered.

In a season when we tend to feel the loss of loved ones more poignantly, the Hospice Tree of Lights provides the opportunity for us to not only remember, but celebrate those we’ve loved and lost. Remember to submit your loved one’s name by October 31, 2014.
