This Weekend: Saturday Live

This Saturday is the 20th Anniversary of Saturday Live and it will be an adventure for the whole family.  You are guaranteed a good time! The activities are endless with games, face painting, bouncy houses, a dunk tank, a climbing wall, rubber duck racing, airbrush tattoos, sand art, live entertainment, obstacle courses, and more than I can possibly list. This year will include a new feature of Zoo Montana animal shows throughout the day.

Food vendors include pulled pork sandwiches, Wendy’s, rootbeer floats, pizza, tacos, BBQ, cotton candy, carmel apples, frozen yogurt, and all sorts of candy.

The day starts at 9:00 a.m. with a short 2mile fun run/walk or a 100 yard dash for younger kids.  The race takes place at Daylis Stadium.

Following the race is the main event at Pioneer Park, running from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Saturday Live is a huge fundraiser for the 39 Billings area public schools and the Education Foundation for Billings Public Schools. Last year the carnival raised $108,000.  Tickets are available at area schools or at the park on the day of the event.

If you’re wondering about the parking situation and traffic congestion, consider the free shuttle service.  You can park at the Montana State University Billings parking lot on Virginia Lane and Rimrock Road or the Billings Clinic parking lot on North 30th and Ninth Avenue North.  The shuttle drops off and picks up passengers at the Zimmerman Center on the west side of Pioneer Park and runs every 15-30 minutes throughout the day.
