Free Family Programs at the Audubon Education Center (Jan-March Schedule)
It's been a lovely winter so far so why not head out with the kids and enjoy some fun & free educational programs at the Audubon Education ConservationCenter? Here's the line-up for January / March. Sunday Jan. 22, 1:30 – 3 PM: Winter Weather – Join the National Weather Service Meteorologists and learn how winter precipitation forms, how it’s forecast, and how best to stay safe from its hazards.
Saturday Feb. 4, 9 – noon: Snow Tracking at the Red Lodge Nordic Center – Learn how to cross-country ski, then explore the trails in search of animal tracks. Bring your own skis. Children ski free. Adults $5 trail use fee.
Sunday Feb. 12, 6:30 – 8 PM: Owl Prowl – Learn amazing owl facts, and go on a hike in search of the resident great-horned owls on Norm’s Island.
Sunday Feb. 26, 1:30 – 3 PM: Winter Ecology – Learn about amazing adaptations that help our hardy critters in Montana survive until spring.
Sunday March 25, 1:30 – 3 PM: Well Educated – Learn how to involve your family in a fun and practical science project. You’ll walk away with the tools and knowledge to monitor your water quality at home.
