Got Miles? Take the Air Mile Challenge to Help Wishes Take Flight

Billings, Mont., December 20, 2011 – If you have frequent flier miles with Delta, US Airways, Continental or United, you’re invited to take the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Montana Air Mile Challenge.  If the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Montana receives 250,000 donated air miles by the end of January, Advisory Committee Member Aaron Sparboe will match the donation with his own 250,000 air miles.  Sparboe is the Manager/Property Advisor of Lamplighter Square and has been a member of the Make-A-Wish® Advisory Council since it was first formed in August 2011.

Miles can be donated on the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Montana’s web site, montana.wish.org.  Donations can also be made over the phone by calling  1-877-574-9474.  The local Make-A-Wish® chapter needs approximately 10 million air miles to help make wishes come true this year.  It takes approximately 200,000 air miles to send a family of four to the Orlando theme parks and at least 300,000 to send them to Hawaii.  Many non-profit organizations need money, but few need air miles to make their charitable work possible.  The Foundation turns donated miles into free flights for the local kids to send them on the journeys of a lifetime. And once miles are donated, they never expire.

For more information on the challenge or the Foundation, please call Heather Ohs at 1-877-574-9474.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Montana is a non-profit organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. The Foundation serves all 56 counties in Montana and granted its first wish in 1987. Since then, more than 300 wishes have come true with the help of more than 50 volunteers. For more information on how to refer children or to volunteer, please call the Make-A-Wish Foundation at 1-877-574-9474 or visit its Web site at www.montana.wish.org.
