Silly Pumpkins Halloween Project for Kids
October 1, 2011
Yes, Halloween is supposed to be scary and creepy but this silly pumpkins project is perfect for those of us who like to make Halloween a little more fun and whimsical. The kids will love helping mix the paint and will have a blast making the silly looking eyes and cheerful, toothy grin!

Here's what you need to create these happy, silly pumpkins.
- black construction paper (for the backgrounds and for the mouth & eyes)
- acrylic paints (try mixing yellows, oranges and reds to make the pumpkins more colorful). You can also mix some yellow and blue to make the green accent pieces.
- scissors
- glue
- white construction paper (cut in ovals, squares, circles..etc..) for teeth and eyes and a larger piece for the pumpkin itself
Use the black construction paper (a full piece) for the background. Cut out a large circle or oval for the pumpkin "body". Paint your pumpkin using the orange mixed paint and let dry. Then, add your accent pieces eyes, mouth, nose, stem, etc...and paint the stem and background "grass" green.
Voila!...a smiling, happy & silly pumpkin to cheer up your Halloween decor!
