Great Spaces: DIY Bulletin Board
In this month's print edition of Simply Family Magazine we shared a fantastic mudroom "welcome space" complete with a DIY Bulletin Board perfect for displaying your children's artwork, "to-do lists", photos and more. Here are the supplies you'll need to create your own....
- plywood
- trim moulding (available at hardware stores)
- cork board (you can find rolled corkboard at the local craft stores or pieces in a variety of sizes)
- silver spray paint (or the color of your choice for the moulding)
- a glue gun and glue sticks
- finishing nails
- wood filler
Start by choosing a piece of plywood that fits your space (you can have plywood pieces cut to your specifications at Home Depot or Lowes). Then, attach the rolled cork with your glue gun making sure you cut off any excess overlapping the edges. Spray paint the moulding and allow it to dry. Finally create a "a frame" for your bulletin board using the moulding. Here's a great tutorial with step-by-step instructions for framing your bulletin board!
