5 Kid-Friendly, Camping-Ready Recipes Created in a Bag
July 2011
I recently read this month's print edition of Simply Family Magazine and the "Go Fish!" article on page 20 instantly brought me back to one of my favorite local fishing trips ever. Since I am more of a foodie than a fisherwoman...I was pretty excited about the "Tacos in a Bag" our friends made for lunch.
They packed a cooler with pre-seasoned ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, olives, onions...etc.. and browned the meat on a small, portable camp stove. Then we took single-size chip bags (Doritos, Fritos, etc..) and filled them with the meat and whatever taco toppings we wanted. The prep / clean-up was simple and we loved our (non-sandwich) boat-dinners!
That's why I decided to do a little searching tonight for "recipes ...in a bag." Here are five favorites. If you have any other ideas, feel free to share them on our Facebook page!
