Celebrating 10 Years of Books & Babies

January 29 @ 4:00 pm

Billings Public Library
Celebrating 10 Years of Books & Babies
Tuesday, January 29 @ 4pm

Billings Public Library is celebrating 10 years of their Books & Babies programming, and past, present (or pondering) “babies” and their caregivers are invited to this joyous occasion! Enjoy cookies and craft-creating in celebrating this special program that runs twice weekly for babes ages 0-2 and their parent/caregiver.

Children’s librarian, Cindy Patterson, explains that Books & Babies is designed to promote emergent literacy skills, present informative language pattern skills to parents, expand infants’ attention spans, enhance children’s physical sensations, and engage in socializations for parents and infants.

Held on Thursdays at 3:15pm and Fridays at 10:15am, Books & Babies has parents/caregivers spending the first few minutes reading and sharing board books with their babies, before moving on to 10-15 minutes of singing (that includes lap sit, finger plays, and poems), and then it’s time for the toy tub, when the babies/toddlers are encouraged to play and socialize with each other and their adult. This is a time where friendships are fostered, questions are asked and answered. If you’ve got a precious little, pop on by!
