Children (and parents) of the ‘80s, you’ll want to sit up and take note, as one of the most beloved sets of TV parents from that era have been cleverly cast to star together in Love Letters, making a stop this month at Alberta Bair Theater. Meredith Baxter and Michael Grossman, who you’ll remember as Elyse and Steven Keaton of Family Ties, are sharing the stage in this intimate two-person show.
Nominated for the Pulitzer Prize, A.R. Gurney’s Love Letters brings audience members through the story of childhood friends, Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, both born to wealth and position, whose lifelong correspondence begins via birthday party thank you notes and summer camp postcards. The pair continues to exchange letters through their boarding school and college years. Their correspondence persists through the ages – even after both marry other people. Get your tickets to discover how their love story ultimately unfolds.
