Pamper Mom this Mother’s Day: Your Foolproof Gift Guide

Mom: one of the single most important jobs in all the universe. Don’t you think? And yet I know not a one who did it for the accolades or a six-figure paycheck. Motherhood in and of itself is a proclamation of unselfishness — a declaration of life now lived for another human being (or many little beings). Anyone who has been through (or even witnessed) the birthing process knows this to be true. No mom is perfect; but in her own way, she loves her children perfectly. I think that’s why it’s so incredibly important that we honor and cherish our mothers every day. But why not make mom feel extra special on Mother’s Day?

Here are a few foolproof gifting ideas for the original love of your life.

Mother's Day Gift Ideas...

For the Stylish Mom

You know who I’m talking about; she’s the woman with five kids under the age of five who still manages to look glamorous and put-together everywhere she goes. (You have a sneaking suspicion she is Wonder Woman. Or she has access to an on-call stylist.) If you’re lucky enough to call this woman your wife (or “mom”), then know that she’d probably love a gift card to her favorite local boutique for Mother’s Day. That way she can pick out a new purse, some fashionable sandals for summer, or another pair of designer jeans. Can you have too many pairs of jeans? A bouquet of fresh flowers is always a nice touch.

For the Mom who Loves Jewelry

Moms (and most women in general) love their accessories. We especially love something with a little sparkle. So what if we’re only going to wear our diamonds to the grocery store and the park for a play date this week? In the midst of all the chaos, we still want to feel pretty and fabulous. So why not show your lady (or your “mom”) how much you love and appreciate her with a new piece of jewelry? It doesn’t have to be expensive. Moms really do appreciate the sentiment behind every single carefully chosen gift. And we are speaking from experience here.

For the Techie Mom

Is your mom the Queen Bee when it comes to keeping up with the latest technological trends? Does she always have the latest and greatest of everything? Why not get her a fancy new case for her brand new iPhone 6 Plus? Or you can pick out a new designer case for her laptop. I found some really cute Kate Spade New York cases at our local Best Buy. The Joy of Living also sells the Mighty Purse — a nifty (and stylish) little bag that charges mom’s smart phone on-the-go. How cool is that? From one techie mom to another, she’s sure to love it.

For the Mom Who Loves to Relax

After cooking, cleaning, running errands like a mad woman, and generally serving as the glue that holds the family together, mom more than deserves a little rest and relaxation. Don’t you think? Why not make this day extra special for her? Spoil and delight her with a gift card to her favorite spa for a mani and pedi, or  even better, a full-body massage. Pick up a bottle of her favorite wine and some delicious smelling bubble bath. Yummy chocolates and a book she’s been dying to read also make wonderful gift ideas. And don’t forget a sweet card telling her how much you love her! Her worries and concerns will melt away.

For the Mom Who Loves to Cook

Could your mom give the Pioneer Woman a run for her money? Does she feel most at home in the kitchen, over a big pot of homemade spaghetti sauce? Pick up a pretty new cookbook from your local bookstore. Pair it with some cooking utensils you know she’s been eyeing (or Googling), or that beautiful Le Creuset cookware you know she’s been dying to get her hands on. A cute little teapot and some flavored tea makes a great gift idea. If all else fails, a gift card to Williams Sonoma is always a win-win. Trust us on this one.
