2014 Billings Halloween Happenings, part 2

There’s no shortage of family fun as Halloween comes howling into the Billings area, so get your ghosts and goblins ready, and mark those calendars as we continue on our journey through the incredible variety of a-maize-ing activities awaiting you this fall. Part 2 of our Billings Halloween Happenings is all about trick-or-treating, off the beaten path...So to speak.

Trick-or-Treating

Halloween Party @ Cabela’s – Give the kids another chance to don their costumes, and bring the whole family to Cabela’s on Saturday, October 18 from 10am-1pm when the kids can trick-or-treat throughout the store and decorate pumpkins (limit 1 per family), starting at 11am. Decorating will take place in the archery department with stickers and crafts. Stick around for the fish feeding at 12pm.

Boo at the Zoo @ ZooMontana - Saturday, October 25 @ 10am-4pm | 2100 S. Shiloh Road in Billings

Round up your costumed cuties and head out to ZooMontana for this beloved Halloween staple. Costumes are encouraged, though adults are to remain mask-free. There will be candy stations, games, a costume contest, Halloween-themed animal shows, roving animal encounters, and more! Members get in free, regular Zoo admission fees apply for all other guests, but kids in costume get in free with a paid adult!

Trick-or-Treating @ Rocky Mountain College - Thursday, October 30 @ 4-7pm

Get a jump start on the trick-or-treating, with the added bonus of being indoors, at Widenhouse and Anderson Residence Halls on the RMC campus. The Associated Students of Rocky Mountain College (ASRMC) and Residence Life Staff will be passing out treats to children who visit those residence halls on Oct. 30. Participating residence hall rooms will have "Trick-or-Treat" signs on their doors. Anderson and Widenhouse Halls are located at the east end of RMC's campus, near Veterans Park and Wendy's Field.

Candy Jam @ The Rock Church - October 31 @ 5:30-8pm | 820 West 9th Street Laurel, MT

Whether you’re looking to take the trick-or-treating experience to one location or you’re looking for a fun stop along the way, pop in to The Rock Church in Laurel and take part in their “Candy Jam.” Expect treats like cotton candy, popcorn, and, naturally, oodles of candy! There will be carnival-style games, door prizes, a cake walk, and face painting as well. All that, and it’s free!

Halloween Party & Trick-or-Treating @ The Reef Indoor Water Park - October 31 @ 4-9pm | 1801 Majestic Lane

The Reef is getting in the Halloween spirit offering an alternative to outdoor, door-to-door trick-or-treating. There will be trick-or-treating at the water features and hotel front desk. You can expect the atmosphere to be "spooky, but kid friendly." Come ready to swim and slide or simply participate in their planned activities - including a Halloween Coloring Contest. You can pick up the coloring page at The Reef or head over to their website and download it.

Regular admission rates apply.

Downtown Billings Trick-or-Treating – Get your family’s Halloween festivities started before nightfall by bringing the kids downtown for the Annual Trick-or-Treat event from 12-5pm on October 31. You could start just about anywhere, but starting off at the Downtown Info Center at 2815 2nd Avenue North gets your costumed candy-seeker a free trick-or-treat bag, a participant map, and a goodie or two. Look for balloons to point you towards participating businesses!

**Candy Run @ Faith Chapel - Friday, October 31 @ 5-7:30pm | On the corner of Broadwater & Shiloh

  • Special Needs Open at 3:30pm for all of our amazing kids and families who like a little more time to take in the sights at a slower pace.
  • 5-7:30pm Candy Run up and running! There will be a Fat Taco Truck here along with a few others for you to purchase dinner on the go!
  • Hot cider will be served for free to keep you all snug and warm before getting into the building for our zone extravaganza!
  • Come ready for candy, fun, and photos!

**2014 Candy Jam @ Elevation Church - Friday, October 31 @ 6-8pm | 711 4th Ave North Billings, MT

Elevation Church's annual safe alternative for Halloween, Candy Jam, features a ton of fun for families with bounce houses, inflatables, games, raffles, prizes, food, music, and candy. Did we mention candy? Oodles, and oodles of candy!

Bring the whole family to First Alliance Church’s Harvest Party on Friday, October 31 from 6:30-8pm. There will be food, fun activities for the kiddos with candy and toy prizes. No admission fees and the kiddos are encouraged to come in their costumes.
